Altro che incontro privato, festa di compleanno, incontro fra vecchi amici. Il vertice internazionale che si conclude domani a San Pietroburgo è stata l’occasione per Silvio Berlusconi e Vladimir Putin per riconquistare la scena internazionale con un ruolo di primo piano (ovviamente con le dovute differenze di peso geopolitico, storico e caratteriale) dopo una serie di défaillances.
Informale la sede — la dacia “da sogno”, parola del Cavaliere, di Putin sul lago Valday, circa 300 chilometri a sud di San Pietroburgo –, informale la composizione delle delegazioni — con Berlusconi, oltre la scorta, solo il consigliere personale per gli Affari internazionali Valentino Valentini –, ma centrali i temi trattati e la forma dei colloqui.
Le immagini che sono apparse in serata sul sito del governo russo che riguardano la video conferenza di questa mattina che ha coinvolto anche il premier turco Recep Tayyip Erdogan, ne sono la prova. Putin e Berlusconi erano seduti su poltroncine dorate del Settecento davanti a un caminetto, abito scuro e cravatta d’ordinanza per entrambi. Solo gli interpreti al fianco. Così pure Erdogan, come mostrava lo schermo a fianco. Anche le riprese erano tutt’altro che informali, ma fatte con almeno tre telecamere ed una attenta regia.
I consiglieri davanti ai due interlocutori presenti nella dacia, ma a debita distanza. Come si conviene nei più formali degli incontri internazionali.
Anche se la forma, talvolta e soprattutto nei rapporti diplomatici, è sostanza, il peso dell’incontro è dato soprattutto dai temi trattati.
Nella videoconferenza si è parlato di energia, gasdotti ed oleodotti e di approvvigionamento energetico dell’Europa, uno dei temi più caldi a livello mondiale. Un tema che coinvolge direttamente anche gli Stati Uniti e che in Europa ha finora causato divisioni e, per l’Italia, un certo isolamento.
Su questo piano la situazione, dopo l’incontro di oggi, si potrebbe rapidamente ribaltare. Intanto va notato che i francesi di Edf hanno formalmente chiesto ieri di entrare nel progetto South Stream, cosa che potrebbe definitivamente affossare il faraonico progetto Nabucco (alternativo al gasdotto italo-russo) finora sorretto dall’Unione europea.
Una fonte politica romana ha detto a Reuters che Putin e Berlusconi non hanno parlato del coinvolgimento francese, ma che l’Italia lascia il compito all’Eni. E proprio oggi, a Mosca, secondo agenzie russe, l’amministratore delegato Paolo Scaroni ha incontrato il suo omologo russo di Gazprom Alexei Miller. Insomma la geopolitica dell’energia potrebbe star per conoscere in queste ore novità decisive. Come reagiranno gli americani?
Putin e Berlusconi hanno poi detto di aver parlato dei maggiori problemi internazionali, crisi iraniana compresa. Su questo fronte caldissimo gli americani hanno assolutamente bisogno dei russi per non conoscere il primo tracollo mondiale dell’amministrazione di Barack Obama. Berlusconi perderà l’occasione per far valere ancora una volta la sua capacità di mediazione?
I due hanno poi parlato di temi industriali bilaterali (ed il solo problema automobilistico, che trae spunto dalle jv della Fiat con Sollers a Kamaz, parla di triangolazioni industriali del momento che guardano anche a Germania e Stati Uniti), ma anche fatto riferimento alle scelte nazionali per uscire dalla crisi economica, un altro dei temi caldissimi a livello di G20.

Apart from the absolute beauty of an artistic and monumental city as Rome, we can say it the tradition and folklore, such a popular mood, which makes an extraordinary charm to an urban landscape certainly unique.
1- To visit Rome during the Christmas Period
The Christmas holidays have their logical epicenter in the Basilica of St. Peter, for the solemn duties of the liturgy and the church of S. Maria in Aracoeli, where the famous statue of the Infant Jesus decorated with precious stones and gold is the object of veneration.
Wonderful scenes of the nativity are in all the churches and even in special exhibitions held in the city. In recent years a nativity of monumental proportions is not only in the square S. Peter, but also on the steps of Trinita dei Monti and Piazza Navona. In Piazza Navona there are temporary shops (shelters) for street vendors who sell all items necessary to make the crib, the Christmas tree, toys and sweets.
On december the 23th it takes place an historic wholesale fish market (called “Cottio”) within the old fish market at the portico of Ottavia. While at the stroke of the new year all the city of Rome islit by the “fireworks”.

17 – In mid-July, the feast of ‘Noantri (the rest of us in Roman slang) at Trastevere district, with its fulcrum in the church of S. Crisogono and S. Agate.
18 – On August 5 he Madonna della Neve is celebrated in St. Maria Maggiore. It is said that the night between 4 and 5 August 352, the Virgin appeared in a dream to a patrician named John, pointing to the place where to rise a chapel dedicated to her. Even the Pope Liberio had the same dream and the next morning he found a miraculous snowfall that had surrounded the ground. The church was built and (actually improperly) had the attribute of “Liberian”. Every year on this day, a fall of rain mixed with snow white flowers remember what happened.
19 – On 29 August the church of arciconfraternita di S. Giovanni Decollato opens to visitors; such institution has had for four centuries the task to assist people sentenced to death. In this event you can access the cloister, the tombs, the historical room and interesting frescoes of the oratory.
20 - November the 2nd, All Souls’ Day, special functions are held in some Roman churches, like St. Oration and Death Maria in Via Giulia. The protagonists are the cemeteries of the day.
21 – December the 2nd, the day of St. Bibiana (we recommend a visit to the church facade and statue by Bernini) gives to the people information about weather events: “if it rains in St. Bibiana day it will rain for 40 days and a week.”
22 – On December 8, feast of the Immaculate Conception, a tribute to the column erected near the Spanish Steps. Firefighters arrived with the ladder to the statue of the Madonna and the crown.
